FOOD PANTRY

The St. Peter Damian Food Pantry is a wonderful ministry set up by our parishioners and completely running on donations and the help of volunteers each week. The Food Pantry to all those in need of food within the parish and surrounding communities. The food pantry currently has 100+ families and registered and serves approximately 120 families per month.

HOURS OF OPERATION

Doors are open every Saturday from 9:00am - 11:00am. The food pantry is located in the basement of the Chapel and can be entered through door C4.

LOOKING FOR ASSISTANCE?

Visitors in need of food will be asked to register providing the following information:

(information and registration is available in English and Spanish)

  • First and Last Name

  • Number of family members in household

  • Home address (proof of address will need to be provided by government issued ID, utility bill, or any mail with the name of address of the individual registering)

Only ONE family per address can be registered, If multiple families live in one home, the person registering must provide the total number all members living in the same house.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

If you would like to be a part of the Food Pantry, there are many ways you can help:

  • Donate food items from the provided list below. Items can be placed in the large brown box in the vestibule of the church before or after all Masses, or in the Chapel before or after morning Mass during the week. Items can also be dropped off at the parish office during office hours, Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 2:00pm.

  • Donate financially. Cash donations are used to purchase food items that the pantry is low on. Cash donations can be put in one of the various colored envelopes marked "Food Pantry" and drop it into the collection basket at any mass, or drop it off at the parish office during regular office hours.

  • Organize a food donation drive through your work, school, neighborhood, or sports clubs.

  • Volunteer your time at the food pantry on Saturdays between 8:30am - 11:15am. To volunteer please call 630-940-7458 or email foodpantry@stpeterdamian.org.

  • Cereal

  • Oatmeal

  • Pancake mix

  • Pancake syrup

  • Flour

  • Sugar

  • Cooking oil

  • Snacks

  • Peanut butter

  • Jelly

  • Juices/beverages

  • Pasta

  • Pasta sauce

  • Canned soups

  • Canned beans

  • Canned vegetables

  • Canned fruit

  • Canned meat (tuna, chicken, ham, beef)

  • White rice

  • Applesauce

  • Cookies, crackers, granola bars

  • Diapers sizes 3 to 5

  • Baby wipes

  • Adult diapers sizes S, M, L, XL

  • Deodorant, shampoo, soap, toothpaste, etc.

  • Toilet paper

  • Paper towels

  • Cleaning supplies

  • Laundry soap

  • Cash donations used to purchase what is low
