Lenten Mission Retreat with Fr. Britto Berchmans

This 2025 Lent season, St. Peter Damian Parish is excited to have Fr. Britto Berchmans with us to help us Open Our Hearts to the Lord! Fr. Britto was born in India and is an Archdiocese of Chicago priest. Fr. Britto has served the Church in various capacities in India, Italy, and the U.S. He speaks extensively to groups on spirituality, relationships, and personal growth, and conducts retreats and parish missions. He holds multiple Master's degrees in physics, journalism, and theology, and a Doctorate in mass communications. He has produced a six-part set of CDs entitled, Enrich your Marriage. He recently retired as the pastor of St. Paul of the Cross Parish in Park Ridge, a parish that ministers to almost 5,000 registered families. Fr. Britto laces humor into all his presentations, and recently he has been doing a comedy routine known as "Holy Smokes!" for audiences around Chicago. Fr. Britto hosts a monthly talk show on Catholic radio entitled "Built on the Rock" which focuses on Christ-centered marriages and relationships. As he is retired from active priestly ministry, Fr. Britto continues to help with Masses and other sacraments in various parishes and to present parish missions, talks, and retreats.
All parishioners are invited to attend Fr. Britto's Lenten Mission Retreat in the Church at 7:00pm on Monday, March 10th and Tuesday, March 11th.
Theme of this Lenten Mission Retreat: Open Your Hearts to the Lord
Session 1 - Monday, March 10th
Love Scripts: How to read God's Handwriting
We begin our spiritual journey when we recognize that God not only loves us, but is in love with us. We need to develop the capacity to recognize God's handwriting as He sends us His love-notes every day.
Session 2 - Tuesday, March 11th
Rejoicing: Happiness and Fulfillment in Life
No matter what we do, we are all seeking happiness. And yet, happiness seems to be so elusive. In this talk, Fr. Britto outlines a simple approach to living our lives to the fullest. Drawing insights from positive psychology, spiritual life, and common wisdom, he attempts to provide concrete steps to live more fully our everyday lives.
No registration is needed. If you have any questions, please contact the parish office at 630-837-5411.
