LentPillar3_FBStory_23i1_rgb.jpg

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 18th. The following are the regulations for abstinence and fasting to be observed by Catholics during Lent.

A fast and abstinence is prescribed for Ash Wednesday and Good Friday and recommended for Holy Saturday. Fast is observed by all Catholics between the ages of 18 and 59. Those bound by this may take only one full meal. Two smaller meals are permitted, if necessary, to maintain strength according to one's needs. Solid food between meals is not permitted.

Abstinence from meat is to be observed by all Catholics 14 years and older on all Friday of Lent.
