Reverend Christopher Ciomek
Pastor & Dean of Deanery E, Vicariate 1
I was born in Poland. My parents have both passed on, my father in 1995 and my mother in July 2016. I am the youngest of six children. I came to the United States in 1988 and earned a Bachelor of Arts from Loyola University, Master of Divinity from University of St. Mary of the Lake, Master of Arts in Christian Spirituality from Creighton University, and Doctor of Ministry in Practical Biblical Theology from Barry University. I was ordained a priest in 1998 and served as a full-time associate pastor at St. Monica Parish in Chicago and then at St. Theresa Parish in Palatine. In 2004 I was assigned to Mundelein Seminary as full-time faculty and asked to be an Associate Dean of Formation and Director of Chicago Seminarians. As your pastor I will try my best to be present, be your servant leader, and work together with you for the good of our parish. May we be blessed as we strive to grow in our relationship with God.
Reverend Curtis Lambert

I am a life-long resident of the Chicagoland area. I grew up in Maywood, Illinois, and attended St. Eulalia Grammar School. I am the oldest of four. My parents have both passed on. At 14 years of age, I entered the seminary: Quigley North High School, Niles College Seminary and finally St. Mary of the Lake Seminary in Mundelein. I was ordained a priest in 1974. I have served as an associated pastor at St. Basil in Chicago, St. Bartholomew in Addison, Sacred Heart Parish in Melrose Park and finally at St. Michael Parish in South Chicago. In September 1995 I became pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish on the north side. After 12 years at Lourdes, I moved as pastor at St. Alphonsus Liguori in Prospect Heights. I served 11 years at St. Alphonsus, and I finally retired and entered a new phase in my life. I look forward to ministering with you as far as I am able.

Reverend Paul Maina Waithaka
Weekend Sacramental Minister
Rev. Paul Maina Waithaka, M.Div., serves as the Dean of Formation and the Tolton Teaching Parish Program Director. Before joining Mundelein, Fr. Maina served as the pastor of St. Catherine Laboure, located in Glenview, until June 30, 2019. He was ordained for the Archdiocese of Chicago on May 18, 2002. Before St. Catherine Laboure, he served at St. Sylvester (2002-2007) and St. Stanislaus in Posen (2007-2008). After graduating with a Master’s in Divinity at Mundelein Seminary, Fr. Maina obtained his Master’s degree in Pastoral Counseling in 2008 from Loyola University Chicago. Fr. Maina also received a certificate from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston. He has served in various Archdiocesan councils, including Presbyteral Council, Placement Board, and the Catholic Schools archdiocesan board.

Member of the American Academy of Religion; member of the International Academy of Practical Theology; member of the International Society of Empirical Theology.

I am a native of Toledo, Ohio. I graduated from the University of Toledo with a B.S. in electrical engineering and came to the Chicago area in 1970 to take a job. I met my wife, Terry, here. We have been married 43 years and have five children and seven grandchildren. Terry and I entered diaconate formation in 1983, and I was ordained a deacon in 1986. We have served in this parish ever since. I left the corporate world in 2001 and attended Loyola University fulltime for two years, graduating in 2003 with a Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies. After a year’s CPE residency, I worked 11 years as a chaplain at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, retiring in 2015. Terry and I have been at St. Peter Damian over 40 years, and we both look forward to continuing to serve here.

I was ordained a deacon by the late Cardinal George in 2010. I ministered for over 18 years at St. John Brebeuf parish in Niles and served for a short time at St. Zachary parish in Des Plaines. I grew up on the northwest side of Chicago as the son of Polish immigrants. I am happily married to my wife, Wioletta, and we have two daughters, Natalia and Marcelina. I hold graduate degrees in both nursing education and pastoral studies-bioethics. I have worked as a critical care RN for 20+ years and currently am on staff as nursing educator at both Alexian Brothers and Northwestern Medicine Health Systems. In the Archdiocese I am involved with the Marriage Tribunal in ministering to those seeking annulments as Field Delegate and Associate Judge. I also teach liturgy and chant in the Institute for Diaconal Studies at Mundelein Seminary. I have a deep devotion to the Blessed Sacrament and to our Lady of Fatima. I am here to assist and support Fr. Chris as he shepherds this community along.
Deacon John Porter

I am a lifelong resident of Illinois; I grew up in Wood Dale, Illinois and attended Holy Ghost Parish. I met my wife, Rozanne, in High School, and we were married shortly after we graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy and Rozanne received her Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. I subsequently attended DePaul University and received my Master of Science (Taxation) degree and my wife attended Rosary
College and received her Master of Arts in Library and Information Sciences degree. Before retiring in 2020, I worked in Public Accounting as well as for Amoco Corporation (which merged with British Petroleum (BP)) and Baxter Healthcare Corporation, holding various positions of responsibility as Director of Taxes and VP of Tax Operations. I am both a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Global Management Accountant (CGMA). My wife has worked as a Children’s Librarian at the Algonquin Area Public library and currently works as a Children’s Librarian at the Bartlett Public Library.
We have been married 34 years and have one son, Austin. We have been residents of Bartlett, and parishioners at St. Peter Damian, for 28 years. Rozanne has also been a lay Carmelite for 23 years. We feel blessed to be members of St. Peter Damian Parish, and I look forward to working with the clergy and leadership team and serving the family of
St. Peter Damian Parish.

I hold a Master of Arts in Theology and a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Theology. I was ordained in 1991 for the Archdiocese of Chicago. My wife, my daughter and I live in Hoffman Estates. I write a weekly theological article for a Catholic portal, I have authored a book titled To Believe in God. I enjoy reading, particularly theological and religious books.
