EDUCATION MINISTRIES
Adult Spiritual Enrichment
The Saint Peter Damian Adult Spiritual
Enrichment Ministry strives to nurture mature faith by reaching out to
those in Bartlett and its neighboring communities who are searching for
a more intimate relationship with God. For more information
contact
Fran Mackin at the parish office or at

Baptismal Garment Maker
A ministry that provides an appropriate
garment which is given to the newly baptized infant. The garment
symbolizes the new life of the Holy Spirit given in Baptism. Contact
Lucy Jakubik at the parish office for more information.
Baptismal Preparation
This ministry helps parents to prepare
for their children's Baptism. In a small group, parents discuss
the meaning of Baptism and the importance of their role in nurturing the
faith of their children. Parents are informed of the Catholic
requirements for Godparents and the particulars for having a Baptism at
St. Peter Damian Parish. It is recommended that parents attend the
Baptismal Preparation Class before their baby arrives. Contact the
parish office at 630-837-5411 to schedule a class.
Children's Liturgy of the Word
We invite the children at the 9:30 a.m.
Mass on Sunday to partake in the Liturgy of The Word for Children. After
the opening of the liturgy the 3 - 9 year olds are invited to Hardy
Hall. During the time the adult assembly hears the Word of God, the
Scripture is presented to the children on their level. After all have
heard the Word of God, the children rejoin their parents and the parish
community for the remaining celebration. For more information
contact Pat Juvingo at 630-830-2295.
Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults
(RICA)
The RCIA is a review of the teachings and
beliefs of the Catholic Church for Catholics and non-Catholics. Are you
unsure about church teaching? Are you curious or interested in becoming
a Catholic? This is your opportunity to learn and/or review.

Religious Education Program
The Religious Education Program (REP) at
St. Peter Damian is founded on the belief that the primary
responsibility for spiritual growth and development of children rests
first and foremost with their parents. Through a formalized program of
regular classroom lessons, liturgies and other religious celebrations
directed by the pastor and the REP Board, the program attempts to help
the parents fulfill this God-given responsibility. The program begins
with preschoolers at age 4 and 5, and continues through senior high
school. For registration information contact
Wendy Hendrickson or Pat
Juvingo in the REP office at 630-830-2295.
REP Board Member
The
Religious Education Board sets policies and procedures for the operation
of the REP and integrates the curricula of age levels into a coherent whole.
A board member must have a deep commitment to the ongoing religious
education of the young people of the parish.
REP Catechist
A
catechist works with the coordinator and the other catechists in a
particular grade level to plan and implement the Religious Education
Program in the parish and shares the belief that young people are
important to the life of the church. To become a REP Catechist contact
Wendy Hendrickson or Pat
Juvingo in the REP office at 630-830-2295.
REP Catechist Aide
An
aide is an integral part of the Religious Education Program and gives
much needed assistance to the catechist and/or the coordinator.
