Baptismal Garment Maker

A ministry that provides an appropriate garment which is given to the newly baptized infant. Garments are hand made by parishioners. The garment symbolizes the new life of the Holy Spirit given in Baptism and welcomes the newly baptized child into the Church family.

The Bereavement Committee lends support to family members in times of need immediately after the loss of a loved one with prayer for the mourners at the wake of a deceased parishioner.
Through the holidays we have a grief group to help emotionally and spiritualy those in loss

If you are interested to join, please call the parish office for the contact information

Fellowship Sunday

‘For where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am among them.’ (Mt 18:20)

Once a month, September through April, St. Peter Damian sponsors a Fellowship Sunday. It is held after all the Sunday Masses in Fellowship Hall in the lower level of the Chapel. Come and meet your fellow parishioners. Enjoy some coffee, cake, and good company.

Giving Tree

Each year during Advent two trees are placed in the vestibule of the church and decorated with tags, each having the name of a needy child and suggestions for gifts.  Our generous parishioners take a tag, purchase a gift, identify the gift with the respective tag and place it under one of the trees for distribution.  These gifts benefit the neediest from the community, which varies from year to year.

“Have a Heart” Cart

When you do your grocery shopping, please remember the needy and pick up an item or two for the ‘Have a Heart’ Cart.  Parishioners donate non-perishable food items for families in need.

Ministers of Care

Ministers of Care are needed to take the Eucharist to those who are shut-in at home or in the hospital.  You will need to understand the environment within which the sick find themselves.    Mandatory training sessions offer insight into the manner and procedures needed to exercise in individual circumstances.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Crafters knit or crochet shawls to be given to anyone going through a time of illness, sorrow, transition, challenge, and joyous occasions in life, such as the birth of a child or marriage.  The crafter begins each shawl with prayers and blessings for each recipient.  Prayers are continued throughout the creation of the shawl.  When completed, the shawl is offered a final blessing before being sent along its way.

Religious Goods Room

The Religious Goods room is located just off the vestibule of the church.  The Religious Goods room has religious items available to enhance the spiritual lives of parishioners.  Volunteers donate their time after each weekend mass, usually about 15 minutes.

Respect Life Ministry
Jesus’ Gospel teaches us about the precious gift of human life.  We celebrate Respect Life in the month of October.

WIN (When in Need) Committee
The When In Need Committee, after receiving a request for assistance, makes the necessary inquiries, directs the needy to the appropriate community agencies and then helps with immediate needs as resources permit.  A collection is taken four or five times a year to support this cause.
